Der Hintergrund für diesen Post sind die vielen Stammtisch-Meldungen auf Twitter und sonstwo, dass die Leute selbst am hohen Spritpreis Schuld wären, da sie ja schließlich grün gewählt haben.
Zugegeben wurde 2021 eine CO2-Steuer von ca. 8 cent eingeführt, die 2022 auf ca. 9 cent anstieg, was jedoch kaum die derzeitigen Preise erklärt.
Alle Schwankungen darüber hinaus sind marktbedingt.
PRO TIP: Don't panic if you die / lose your legendary pelt (or fish) before getting it to the trapper/fence/post office

The moment you claim your legendary pelt, it's in the inventory of the trapper/fence, so don't waste your time loading a saved game and trying again :)
EDIT: After comments below, I did a bunch of testing last night - can confirm the title is wrong - fish do not get "auto saved" (if you will), and neither do perfect pelts. The concept of killing an animal and having it show up at the trapper / fence right away is ONLY for legendary animals.
Top Comment: Fish doesn't count. I was fishing from a boat for the fish south of the Railroad bridge near Saint Denis. Fought that dang thing for 20 minutes before I got it into the boat. Got a prompt on screen asking if I wanted to teleport to shore, said yes, and it promptly put me on a small island in the middle of the river. Managed to get my horse to swim out to me, threw the fish on the back, swam to the next piece of dry land so the horse didn't drown, got spooked by a gator, thrown off and killed before I could get back to my feet. Fish gone. Big X mark on the map saying I caught it. Went to the post office, no option to send mail. Went around pissed off for awhile hunting other stuff. maybe 3 days in game passed, had to go to the trapper in Saint Denis again and noticed the "Caught" mark on the map had disappeared. First cast caught him again.
